Agreed infidel been thinking the same question myself its at times like this that the members want to be full informed of how the dispute talks are progressing plus relaying strike day info.

Its bad news. It demoralises everyone from members to reps because there is no communication - when was the last time we had something from the union, when we get a letter from royal mail arguing to work the strike 1-2 times a week? And its dangerous because the leadership can stitch together some rotten deal that they then present as "take it or leave it but you have to strike all-out/until Christmas" etc. The balloting period means we lose the Christmas strike period where we are strongest. The rank and file need to control negotiations to avoid a 2007 style situation happening.

I cannot believe that the talks have only been about getting an agreement for future talks, in order to get us to stop the strikes. I am hoping that they have been at the table long enough to come up with a full agreement that can be put to the members to ratify or throw out. I think that both sides must know that any phony delaying tactic to get them through the christmas period will be kicked straight into touch. If they dont then they have miscalculated the mood and strength of feeling within the striking membership.

I think that was one of the agreements (not to talk about the talks) that both sides agreed to. Don't stress thats what RM want. Anyway your rep might be in the same situation as you. He might not be getting the information. :cool

I don't even get told when I'm striking. I have to come on here to find latest strike days (maybe a sticky would make it easier to find?)
