It's not summer lapsing, it's all year lapsing. Yes are office is still doing it.

,even if we have sickness packet drivers cover walks and ditch there own packets for next day and the nextday so end of week mountains!!!

Lapsing is now a permanent part of our duties, we all accepted the £400 bonus to make it so didn't we? It's just the ridiculous way it is implemented by management that annoys me so many different ways of doing basically the same thing!

we are still lapsing at our office. dont know why they bother calling it SUMMER lapsing. it never has been.

Units should not be continuing the Summer Lapsing .. that was specific to the summer period as defined by RM (weeks 10 to 22/24).

All Units should now be 'absorbing' work .. i.e. taking up duties that are subject to sick absence/annual leave etc, but only if there is sufficient time in the day to do so. If you follow the guidelines issued many months ago by CWU in respect of working safely and properly little time should be available to the DOM to utilise time in that way. DOMs are entitled to 'utilise hours' by finding indoor/outdoor work on your return - don't give them that opportunity and make life easy for them. Make sure the DOMs earn their money as much as they demand you do!

In respect of DOs, yes, that will invariably mean you will be out delivering beyond the 3.5 hours (town deliveries) in order to fill your day. It is one way that reasonable earning levels can be maintained (eg: working o/t to clear duties) and/or extra staff need to be taken on to fill the gaps, be they full- or part-time positions.

Worked out our lapsing saves 48hours a week! So theres 1 job out the window

Also cost me 8 hours overtime myself from Part Time to Full Time cover

started off just summer but now its all the time but in our office if we are busy we dont take it i only take it if i m early out never if out late and it pisses the boss right off
