what if the outcome of the industrial action is not what we want and the CWU concede (as is thought by many) to a poor deal like the pay and modernisation deal of 2007
will you still stay as a member or like myself leave so my subs are not subsidising the Liebour Party who are doing there utmost to bring what was a great public service to rack and ruin
i personally believe that the top CWU executives will think about there own political ambitions and cave in which will leave us in complete and utter turmoil

Re: what if
as i have said on another thread if the basics like flexability and absorbtion are not ripped up then i for one will tell the cwu to GTF, these deals were done "in good faith" and have been used to sack employees yes sack remember that, so if we go back with just a "oh well we will look at it" then they can f**k off cause everything will have been for nothing

Re: what if
I think the PEC might be fully aware of the position this time around. Put simply any deal perceived as even a partial failure by the membership will effectively be a fatal wound. Hence the high stakes.
To a certain extent the 2007 agreement especially the weighting it gave to local agreement was a cop out. Clearly this emphasis on local agreement was open to abuse and exploitation but offered the national leadership the opportunity for plausible deniability ( not our fault chum ,your area is to blame).Much to the annoyance of some this was pointed out by many long before the consequences hit home ,hence the position we find ourselves in today.
Any such deal that leaves the membership open to management sniping will be much more difficult to sell this time around and doubly damaging

Re: what if
This is very important, the CWU must get it right this time. If we're offered a crap deal which doesn't deal with unfair workloads, managers bullying, harassing, and intimidating workers into undertaking unacceptable workloads, I will vote against such a deal, and if it still manages to get through, well, I will have to think long and hard about whether I will wish to continue paying subs to a union that just will not help improve the terms and conditions of employment of it's members, but effectively aids and abets the management in it's plans for our demise.

after the 2007 stick up this is the last throw of the dice for CWU for me and i guess many RM workers.
TBH if things dont improve then my time at RM will probably be over
i dont need a job where every day is a war of attrition
