Got to work this morning bang on time and prep-ed and delivered about half of what i had, so still got the back log to clear, but a few guys most have come in early and prep-ed the whole lot and took it out with them
I said what is the point striking then clearing the back log the next day in one go?
It's just what the managers want!
Also found out 9 strike breakers went to other offices yesterday...
im a floater and the bloke whos walk im on threw off some of what was left thursday for me and some other guy thought he was on my walk came in late when i was sorting and threw off what i had left on my desk. So i took out all of what I had which was only 4 bags because we didnt do much sorting, but i NEVER got in early, i started at my time 5am on a saturday. They said to us at half 7 ok drop whatever mail you have left and bag up and go. Still loads left.
All of it - but only because it was as a normal Saturday. It seems like no-one was in extra to clear the backlog (it's really starting to build up) and we didn't have to go around and sort any of it = got out on time (was expecting much more than what we got and a battle but it was rather 'normal').
Got in and my job had been prepped in alfready as had all the others left over from yesterday so took it and was suprisingly done on time... Don't let Royal Mail know that though as we'll be doing 2 days worth in 1 all the time :lfo :cfo :mfo
went in to 7 tubs but only took 2 bags full as i got put on a walk i didn't know that well, left over half for the poor sap next week.
some came in early and took the lot,
some came in to time and still took the lot, still a fair bit left untouched.
We were told to tie the walks up for 8.45-9 and leave what was left.
One strike breaker who worked yesterday was gone at 8.20, leaving 3 boxes of walksort for the guy who is doing it on Monday. I saw what he'd left and reported it to the Union rep and line managers, unfortunately with him being a strike breaker I doubt anything will be done about it.
Virtually everyone else left around one box of walksort and some packets, though some did go in early and take the lot.
Started at proper time 6.30 as opposesd to doing what i would normaly do and go in at 6.00. Yesterdays mech was thrown up by the strike breakers, so i threw up what mail came in today. Took it all out but rang the office to say i was bringing a bag back as ran out of time and as there not paying overtime then fook them...... its there prob not mine........lol :lfo
Cleared everything today, it was mainly mech' and packets. My floater broke the strike yesterday and took out 6 bags of mailsort and other shite. I did an extra 30-40 mins or so over my time to complete. I know I shouldn't but it makes my life so much easier for Monday.
I would say our office is 95% clear.
One poor guy was on leave last week and has 2 days mail crammed into his frame waiting for him on Monday
we were told 2 stop throwing our walks in at 8.30 and bundle up and go out , i took 4 bags out with me and left at least twice that amount on top and under my frame, all good fun for monday when again as usual i will be working to my finish time and whatever is left is their problem!
we're all doing the job by the book. we didn't leave the office untill 10.45 started my walk at 11.10 and cut off dead on 2pm i think every walk cut off today.
