I cannot believe what i saw on tv last night. Nor this morning with the BBC still saying its about pay. I am not a union believer normally as they are too militant. Nor do i generally believe that things are 'controlled' by the government. But the rubbish i saw yesterday just guts me that this is what we have running the country
Union leaders seemed genuinely gutted, yet RM came out 30 secs later saying what they have been saying all year
I have also learned that the sequencing machines bought, that were meant to be rolled out back in April still havent. And i ask, where has my taxes used to buy these things gone? I also hear, that it infact turns out 2 people are needed to use these machines so they are in effect too expensive to run as it doesnt meet with staff cuts
So to any journalist out there i ask you to look at this
Where has our money gone and where are the sequencing machines promised? This was part of the modernisation plan - not more job cuts
If the CWU are militant as some papers claim, why have they said they welcome the new technology which would enable staff to do their job quicker. The CWU have asked where the technology is, Lord Clarke has asked too.
If the CWU are militant whu have they not protested against the 60,000 job cuts that have already happened
if the CWU are militant why have they been calling for ACAS since the summer
More importantly, why have RM and the government refused to have ACAS involved. Until that is this week, when they said they would but only under condition, only at some point in the future and more importantly only to be involved in certain areas

Can someone somewhere please tell me???

the government and royal mail dont want acas involved because it would highlight whats been going on.
they know acas will tell them that they have been in the wrong.

Generally, the decent journalism takes a while to rise to the top. It's the crappy short-term headlines that we have to contend with for the time being.
