I have been a postie for almost 7 years now and have never been approched by a union rep so have never joined was going to work through the strike but reading through alot of the posts on her have really opened my eyes somy quistion is, will it be poss to join up to the cwu tomorrow so i am protected bearing in mind im in a sub office and have no idea who or how to get hold of the union rep?

Although im not saying you shouldnt join - you are legally untouchable in regards to taking part in official trade union industrial action while not in a union if thats your worry.
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

Because it is a national dispute, you should still be protected not going into work on strike days. I'd def. say it is a wise move to join the CWU.

just been on the site have to send the form off will i be covered by union as soon as i sign the form or when they recive it?

I should imagine once you have signed up to the Union, any problems you may face will be sorted out with the help of the Union. Also, any questions you have can always be asked on the Union part of the forum and plenty of people will only be too willing to answer any questions for you.

I'm not in the UNion either but will support my colleagues by striking. And will look into joining. The comments on this Forum have really helped me decide what to do.
