Just heard the usual we will sign the agreement that was on the table last night from Toolhurst on Sky News. First does anyone know what was actually agreed?? I am guessing they think it means something totally different than any other person with any logic between their ears would think! But most importantly he couldnt answer where Crozier was hiding when the talks were going on, i have a fair idea, counting his huge bonus that he shafted every postman/woman in Britain for!!! :cfo

Indeed. I'm totally cheesed off with the british media. Demand this overpaid , workshy, waste of space to get on Newsnight and let Paxman have a right go at him. Let him justify his huge salary and ask him why when he bleats on about "mail volume" being down 10% (yawn) he doesn't mention that the workforce is down over 25% to compensate. Instead of this, now this has got political we get endless faceless politicians, telling us what should be done with Royal Mail. I bet some of them can't believe thier luck that this has taken the limelight of thier expenses claims.

I would imagine that it would only be an agreement to ground rules for talks ( and calling off the strike action )
The actual nitty-gritty of a full agreement of the dispute would take a lot longer to discuss.

Adam, Mandy & Higson veto'd that agreement because independant investigations into how ALL Royal Mail staff ( and I include managers/ DOMS / Area Managers ect. who signed up to the RM ethos for fear of their jobs too, even though they are being left to deal with the concequences of the unworkable cuts ) are being BULLIED from the very top, independent scrutiny would reveal how the strike action has been SANCTIONED by RM + MANDY.

Mandy wanted 2-3 Billion £'s to spend as a sweetener in the next election, and because of the actions of the CWU & the PUBLIC (who would lose out in any privatisation), he's a tad upset. He can't punish the public ( not at least unless Labour, by some miracle, wins the next election and he can TAX them all a bit more ). BUT he can use his political infuence to punnish the CWU during his last 6 months or so in power. ( thats not strickly true because as a Lord, he will continue to wield power long after Gordon has gone & has hinted that he may even take up a roll in a future CONSERVATIVE goverment - ( because he "serves the country, not a party" )

I wonder if Gordon is starting to regret sipping tea with the devil
