I have just listened to the press conference and it confirmed much of what I believed about the true reasons behind all the changes that are being enforced - the ultimate privatisation of the royal mail. I know we must fight for the conditions and the royal mail and do support the strike action. However I do wonder what is going to be the final outcome for us? Many other things have been unpopular and fought against, particularly privatising services but the government has got them through anyway. What if the same is true here and no amount of action will change it? They obviously aren't committed to finding a solution, perhaps because their minds are made up and royal mail will go no matter what. Where will that leave us? I know we must fight to save it but I have to say I am really fearful for my job. Putting the current circumstances and politics aside, I really love my job and am fully aware that there is little out there as an alternative. Not sure there is an answer to what I am saying, I'm sure I'm not the only one feeling this way. I guess all we can do is keep fighting and hope.....

Many postman/woman will have a job but probably reduced wages, hours and conditions in the future, probably 3-5 years down the line. All what the strikes have done is delay this. Next year the Tories will probably gain power and another fight or war will be waged WE DON'T WANT PRIVATISATION.
People are deluded if they think these things will not happy in the future and customers are deluded if they think they will get a cheaper better service.
