New part time heirarchy

Post by realitybites »

Just asked my manager why someone who started after me had their own walk when I had been employed by RM longer at this office. He told me that the new part time contracts were a totally new part of RM and involved a whole new heirarchy (We have both gone down to 25 hours but he a week earlier than me). So supposedly, an inexperienced 18 year old can come in a week before a 30 year veteran who chooses to go down to a part time contract and have seniority? We have 2 more people who appealed against their move to 25 hours who are longer time servers than mewho, by his logic, I will be senior to. This doesn't seem like a very good incentive for promoting part time contracts for full timers.

Same in my office, all the new starters (on 25hr contracts) get given their own walks, whilst me and several others with over 8 years service get demoted down to leave reserve status.

Same in my office ! our office stupidly accepted the revision. But yet no part timers have signed for any jobs. The majority of the part timers on 30 hour contracts are floaters or reserves.Thiers never been a re-sign for any parttimer. But yet most of the newer part time staff on less than 30 hour contracts have there own walks. Absolute rubbish !! WHATS THAT ALL ABOUT :confused

Im a 25 hour newbie and there are no plans for me to be given my own walk. Been told i'll be a reserve.

I AM however on a ''training walk'' and have been for the past two months but after that period is over in a week or two thats me.
