Just listening to the news and now RM are haveing a go at the managers who in turn have basically said that the are not contracted to do work of any kind that is under there grade and pay scale.
Me thinks they are feeling the pressure they have been meating out over months of agony for the workers. :arrrghhh :arrrghhh :arrrghhh

Dear Mr Higson

Instruction to Managers

I have been advised that you have to-day issued an instruction to managers to attend the operation for a minimum of 2 days per week during the official industrial action undertaken by the Communication Workers Union.

Unite deplores this action and is not currently in dispute with Royal Mail. It is inappropriate for our members' to be instructed to undertake work that is not proper to their grade and for which they are not contracted.

Accordingly, Unite must insist that this unreasonable instruction be withdrawn with immediate effect. Our members are of course obliged to work normally, which is in line with the advice we have given to members thus far.

To force our members into such an invidious position would be inappropriate and potentially dangerous. Royal Mail has a duty of care of its employees, now and in the future, and this unilateral action by Royal Mail undermines its responsibilities.

I am prepared to meet with you as a matter of urgency to discuss this but this instruction will have to be withdrawn before any meaningful dialogue can take place.

Royal Mail are damned if they do and damned if they dont :left:

Trouble is the managers dont trust them an inch as they have seen first hand how they have shafted us. They can see no more :cuppa and getting kicked out every day to do our lapse break off :dance :dance
