Boycott TNT mail

Post by chorlton »

TNT have declared they want to put 'Orange' postmen on the streets to rival and replace us.

Now is the time to stop handling their mail. Any letters/packets or parcels with TNT on them should be left for them to deliver.

This would put the issue of Downstream Access in the spotlight. Thats the root cause of our problems.

Downstream access should have been looked at and resolved long before our strike action.

But i agree with you 100% :Applause :Applause

I suspect a boycott would be illegal but how about if we offer to go in without pay to deliver all the non-DSA stuff on our next strike day?

That would highlight to the general public that we are not striking out of laziness and really bring to their attention the unfairness of DSA. Let's get Granny Smith back on our side!

That so simple, it's brilliant, I am no RM lover, but certainly most of our problems can be traced back to the time when we had to accept dsa at such stupid prices, something that I have educated so many members of the public about in the last week, they just dont realise, so something like this is to my mind a great idea, probably illegal who gives a stuff anyway.

i think if tnt ever got to the stage where they had postmen walking the streets
their discounted dsa would cease!
after all it was only ever intended as a boost to allow rivals a chance to enter the market.

Our profits would increase a few pence with every letter tnt delivered! (compared to our current conditions)
we lose money on every tnt letter at present.

Totally genius idea. It's just the sort of thing that would grab the country and the news channels. Only problem is we would be turning up for work and so would probablly get paid?!?! Is there a way we could still be on strike with a picket line but quickly grab some non-dsa mail and send a token workforce out to deliver? If every DO did this even just in London the media would have a field day.

Good idea about a publicity stunt. Delivering non-DSA mail.

How about delivering in Mandelsons constituency. To highlight DSA prices are a political decision by govrnment and Postcomm. To promote private firms and rundown RM.

That is a great idea Eric,we should just start delivering the stuff that has a royal mail stamp on it.

tried that one a few months back but it would seem the postmen with the knowledge are too chicken to come forward.

Or perhaps they are not yet on board - even if they were with RMs current culture of employee satisfaction don't you think it would be easy to identify them, and then give them the heave ho for breaching the OSA. :hmmmm
