Shock , horror. RM put their own spin on the ballot result.
I suppose we could say that out of 120,000 less than 19,000 voted No, but of course RM are interested in that sort of spin (sorry, truth).

The same could be said about elections for government, apathy is widespread in the UK and their point is? Usual Royal Mail tactics, how about putting some effort into negotiations for once eh Royal Mail?

Yep, let's spin some figures from the last election shall we....piranha wrote:The same could be said about elections for government, apathy is widespread in the UK and their point is? Usual Royal Mail tactics, how about putting some effort into negotiations for once eh Royal Mail?
61.4% turned out to vote.
Of that percentage 35.3% voted Labour.
35.3% of 61.4% is 21.67%.
So almost 80% of the country's population DID NOT vote for a Labour government. Yet I didn't hear many people moaning that the country didn't really want them in
Billy Hayes and Dave Ward ought to bring those figures up in their next interviews.

The 2005 Government was elected by a voter turnout of 61.7%piranha wrote:The same could be said about elections for government, apathy is widespread in the UK and their point is? Usual Royal Mail tactics, how about putting some effort into negotiations for once eh Royal Mail?
but only 36% of these voters voted labour
That means(36%*61% )= 22% of eligible voters voted labour.
or put another way 4 out of 5 didn't vote labour.
Our result was a landslide by comparison.
