To strike or not to strike?

I have supported every strike in my 20 years in royal mail, but i am undecided this time as its galling standing on a picket line when not only are colleagues working but also getting paid overtime, and on the last strike i feel the union let us down big time when the agreement was a load of rubbish, how they decided to sign up for it was amazing, can they now be trusted to back the strikes or fold like before? Also some people in our office rush round and go home 2-2half hours early so its difficult to argue with the manager when he says we can make cuts, some people are just thick.

Staff in your office must have rockets up there backsides or something far wrong with your duty spans to be getting finished that early. Our staff have IPS, DUAL PREP,then there walk with cut offs and mail streaming a regular thing. Maybe some of the staff in your office are the 25% who voted no!!

The answer to combating the worsening terms and conditions now being implemented in Royal Mail, is not to go belly up and invite every incompetent manager to tickle your belly, the answer is to stand up for yourself.
Even if I were the only postie in my office willing to strike back at management, I'd never pass the opportunity up and scab, never.
There'll always be idiots amongst colleagues, but I for one will never join them, I will start at my time, take my break, and finish at my time or as near as damn it, and I will always abide by democratically arrived at decisions regarding strike ballots.

Every postal worker who folds only serves to bolster this idiots :cfo image as some kind of union busting entrepreneur, and what a crime that is.
