Over regulated and simply not fair

I ordered an item from top man two days ago.

It was delivered today by a lady in jeans and a tee shirt, no high vis etc. She got out of a clapped out Ford Fiesta rang my doorbell and immediately started cramming the shirt through my letter box.

I opened the door and she then asked me to sign for it. I asked if she was going to forge my signature if she thought I wasn t in and she said 'Probably.'

I watched her then walk back to her car which was loaded to the roof with packets.

We are told all the time not to work out of the front of the van, to wear high vis. and never ever forge a signature on the scanner.

We are over regulated by a government watchdog that has lost control of opening up our market and doesn t give a f**k. :mfo

Well get this one. i orderd a pair of scoobydoo's a couple of days ago, they arrived this morning by parcelforce, he rang my buzzer as i live in a very small block of flats ( 2 floors, 12 flats) i let him in but he didnt come up. i went down the stairs and he was waiting withhis pda. i asked if he didnt do stairs anymore and he ignored me, thrust the poda into my chest and grunted.

Couriers are certainly worse than RM for parcel security, and the general service is no better regardless of what people will claim now strike actiom is looming. We ordered some light fittings online a couple of weeks ago,when they arrived 2 out of 3 had smashed lightshades and one had part of fitting broken off. The packing was adequate as well, it had obviously been thrown around.

We order quite a few items online and not once have we had a card left by a courier company - every single one of them just signs for the packages themselves and doorsteps them.

I know someone who had a laptop left in their bin by a courier By the time the person got home it had (ahem) 'gone missing' and the courier company would have had to cough up for another.

And a parcel sent to my parents house was tracked as 'out on delivery' for 10 days in a row, and at night it was tracked as 'scanned into ******* depot' - it arrived on the 11th attempt

So yes, RM is extremely tight on security and regulations. Other companies don't seem to be subject to anything like that at all.

And if your item isn't doorstepped you have to collect it from a depot 50 miles away.

From what I can work out, from where I am in North Norfolk, DHL are actively looking for car owners to deliver parcels etc for them, no doubt at the expense of full time DHL workers. I don't know if it's a national thing. A taste of things to come perhaps?
What hacks me off heartily is the ignorance of the general public, who due to the propaganda from the usual suspects, think that they can get by without the RM or should I say, its dedicated workforce. They just can't seem to get it into their heads (Of the thick f***ing variety) that it is the RM (With government interference) that is running the service into the ground and not the postman. Didn't they work that one out from the Post Office closures? I won't preach to the converted, but this is a public service and so what if the ratio of profit to turnover is small. What we have now is worth keeping, but what we see now is a Labour government, trying to privatise things to make a profit! I didn't notice their support of the Conservatives in the 80s, when they sold off the family silver for a fast buck.
The trouble is the public won't miss it 'til it's gone.

A couple of months ago we had the DSA from CityLink dropped of in an old unmarked Mercedes vito crew cab because they had a shortage of lorries.
