streamlining also known as culling mail?

lately in our office if we cannot complete in our time we are asked to streamline the delivery.
just miss out some house and bring the mail back for another day.
is this happenin else were? surely we are breaking the universal service obligation?
somedays lots of stuff being brought back. anything to acheive lapsing in our office.

i'm still puzzled about streamlining; i used to think it meant taking mailsort letters / others out of the frame. but i'm assuming the type your using is to take out letters for houses which have only1 letter.

Why are you lapsing if you have to stream/cut off on your own delivery?

Hasnt happened in our office yet allthough some of the guys don't take all the mailsort on a Saturday.
I do because the thought of having to do it Monday anyways.
re streaming ill say its logical that rm might want to go down this route.two deliveries a day have become one, same goes for collections.
you would cut your frame in half- sort all all the mail but only deliver one half on monday the other half on tuesday.
and so on each customer gets their mail every other day.

if you only visiting half your round pegassus georoute could double your round and you wont no know the difference
the customers need never know unless we make sure to tell them.

When you say you've been removing Mailsort from your Frames. Do you mean just the Mailsort 3, or Mailsort 1 and 2, too?

In deliveries when people refer to Mail Sort they tend to mean MS3 as this is identified by a large "M" - the others, MS1 and MS2 are treated the same as there corresponding class of mail and must always go out.

we are told we must do are lapsing bit first so as it is acheived.
we then have to streamline/cull our own duty to finish on time.
if we ask for reduction of lapsing due to heavy day we are told to streamline our own duty.
do we still have to go each house every day if there is mail for it?

Streamlining is only necessary because Royal Mail no longer has enough staff to deliver all mail on time, and it doesn't benefit us any more than coming in early or using cars, it's only cutting corners to hide Royal Mail's problems.
