DOM comment to me today about my speed?

Got back in the office 6 minutes before my time at 1314, as I walked by his office, I said " Oh I made 6 minutes today" He said oh well yesterday " BILL SMITH " ** was back before 12. " Im concerned about the speed your working at"

I said that I am working at the correct speed, im not running for anybody and Ive came it at the right time and took my break etc.

He said well I think your slow and someone of your age ( 30) should be quicker, I said I have done 3h and 25m of delivery I dont see a problem. He then went on about rm's spped bsi thing and all that bollocks. I said none of it was agreed with the union blah blah. Then went on about how the duty holder is always early. I said not my duty not my problem. I said you cant do anything as im doing nothing wrong

I didnt like his attitude and the way he compares me?

I do the job right , no more no less and i wont be picked on like this

advice please - this guy is our DOM ffs!!

I don't think your alone - this sort of thing is happening all over the country right now, but as long as you do the job properly you'll be OK.

thing is Im about the only guy who does his job properly

and out office has lots PT staff who start when they like so im bound to stand out

RM don't expect us to walk at 4mph, or so they told the press, we have an average of 7 seconds to spend at each door, based on a 85% call rate, we have geo-route revisions that have timed deliveries at 3.5 hours, so what is his problem?

wanchope123, you say it is part-timers who are to blame. In my office we have more full-timers who come in early and cut-corners, so it seems unfair to put the blame on the part-timer staff. Maybe you could make some arrangement with your DOM to start at the same time as the duty-holder for one day, to prove to him you can do the job in the same time and aren't deliberately going slow?

Secondly upon being engaged into a conversation of sorts which includes nit-picking, general fault finding and the use of comparisons between other employees thereby trying to demean you and give you low self esteem, one could have retorted, I have listened intently to what you have verbally said, and that you have given me food for thought on the content of what you have said and in the context in which you chose to address me, and being a fee paying member of the CWU, I may or shall consider it my duty to consult with my trade union's harassment hotline for your undignified and uncalled for comments.

being the new boy with only 20 months service i have had continual harassment to keep me in line. i've had the same problem time and time again comparing me to other people. eventually he did it in front of witnesses so after a word with the union a letter of grievance went in [stitch that d1ckhead] and another more senior manager heard the case, it's all recorded and could be very handy in the future. at the moment i am waiting for the minutes back. i make a note of everything, these doms thrive on nothing going higher. make it official.
