Travel to another DO
I am being asked to go lomg term to another DO where a guy is off long term sick. I have no problems with this as I like working there. I will be paid the mileage allowance to drive there, which I am also OK with. My question is this: as I live close to my own DO, can I claim overtime for the time it takes to drive to the other office and back..... about an hour a day.

As far as i am aware, all commuting is to be done in our own time

Hmmmm as per P&M deal,your start time is at your current office,you then travel to your new office.
They have to take you there and back in your duty time.
As you are using your car to get there then i would of thought that the allowance would start from your current office yes.

If your start time is say 6 am and you normally set out for work at 5.45.
then set out the for other office at 5.45 that way your doing the same amount of unpaid comute time as usual but you get paid from 6
if it takes 45mins to get there you arrive 6.30 but you sign in on the sheet as 6.00 start .
its simple your doing them a favour the extra travel is down to them.
and remember your entitled to cut off earlier as well as your extra 30 mins travel back.
a cwu man might actually say go to your office for 6.then set out for other office totally in company time as travel is at their request.
the above is my own compromise.

the above is my own compromise.
absolutely goddam right
as above but one stage further, i refuse to use my car this results in being transported to other office on my start time and transported back to my office for my official finish time by either a dom or a driver. when i started i was told i would get milage allowance but no overtime for travelling. time and time again i was lied to. a word with the union and in two stages claimed back over £400. [yes after being paid out my overtime once my dom started refusing to pay overtime again] it's your job to get yourself to your office the rest is up to them.
