It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

My office is being reverted back to a 5 day week on September 28th,with a 06.00-14.00 Mon-Sat attendance and a rolling rest day.All S/A is being removed and the office is to run on the current duty structure we have on a 4 day week
It looks like we will also have a surplus of 6 or so staff
I wonder what will happen to them

We're all paying a heavy price for having a weak union. Instead of having useless 1 day strike's that's now cost us almost 2 week's money we would of been better off if EVEYONE had of gone on strike and stayed out, by now we would of had some sort of a deal the table. All this union is worried about is protecting it's own skin,

Re: Sth Lon mass exec action!!
Executive action is taking place in East , South west , South East , North London and North West London over the next few weeks. They range from removing 4 day weeks to removing all assistants from vans to whole scale walk revisons being imposed.
Royal Mail are hoping to impose all revisons before the National Ballot result is known. In South East 1 they are removing 56 duties but they will still have these 56 on the pay roll as they have no plans on how to remove the surplus as no VRs are being offered and the revison is due to be implemented on the last monday in September. Streatham is being introduce from next week which has a surplus of 37. But we have revisons being implemented in E1 ,E14 E3 , E4 , SW1 , SW15 and loads of others. Royal Mail have decide to abolish resigns and seniority. They now give duties out by either drawing names out of a hat or by giving duty number 1 to seniority number 1 then duty 2 to the second on the seniority list and so on.
Up the road yes we can all criticise the fact it has taken 4 months to get a national ballot and has left some of us isolated. But the truth is could London have waited and the answer is no we had to fight when we did or we would have betrayted those members in london who had revisons imposed in June. Lets be in no doubt had we not fought Royal Mail in London then they would have introduce far more changes and they would have done so without any resistane. Plus when we balloted there were no national talks now we have negoations and yesterday for the first time ever Royal Mail met with the CWU on a strike day. Next week there are 3 more days of negotaitons scheduled.
Now in terms of all out strikes been there and done that and it is hard and had we adopted that tactic we probably would have lost a number of offices and would have seen some drift. Plus lets examine stoke they went all out and credit to them for that but the result is that the work and themslves are still being moved to Wolvehampton. So just becuasue you go all out you dont necessariy win.
Plus lets be under no illusions this strike is hurting them. 10 million items are still in the system , reg has failed , mailsort is all over the place. South London mail centre as off 0900 today had 240 RSCs on the platform another 130 still to be unloaded plus todays arrivals of appox 240 and also appox 200 yorks. That is without the outward.
So the strike is working the tide is turning and managers are getting disillunisoned and the recvions are failng.
We are getting stronger they are getting weaker. South West London have called action the whole of next week and the rest of london are out next wednesday.
Lets not turn inward as only royal Mail will benfit. Stay strong stay united and vitory will be ours.
