Today I reversed my van into a ditch. Despite the help of two farmers, a farmer's wife, another van and a tractor it remained stuck. So I had to ring the office who called in "the professionals". They got it out but only by making a real mess. All they did was drag it 30 yards on the axels to a bend in the lane. The verge is trashed.
Does anyone know if the farmer is entitled to recompense from RM?
And yes, I know I am an eejit.

I don't think it matters, RM will punish you the same whether the farmer claims or not.

I wrecked someone's letter box trying to put too much mail through when I first started - DOM settled it with her and sorted it out.

Re: Did a stoopid thing today.
Ah the trials & tribulations of delivering in a rural area.......
I got stuck twice, first time i went into a ditch ( road was wet & muddy where the farmer walked his cows into a field ) was a saturday as well and i was in a bit of a hurry as i had to be somewhere early afternoon, anyways i walked up to the nearest house as had no mobile reception, and eventually got the farmer to come down in his tractor and pull me out..
Second time, i reversed onto a patch of grass to let another driver pass by, grass was a lot boggier than i expected and .. STUCK AGAIN
Luckily there was some builders renovating a place nearby and they pulled me out with their pick-up.
Dropped em a pack of beers off next day.
Annoying at the time but you laugh about it afterwards, and a million time better than delivering to a hellhole high rise block where the folks like to throw bottles and all sorts of stuff off the balconies...
