Challenged on Delivery

Post by Daco »

Ime from the office who had 4 days unofficial IA last week.
The walk i am on this week is huge and with all the backlog of mail to make things worse. Yesterday it was thrown in by a manager and when I came in this morning the fitting was solid, hardly any room for any more mail. We were put on the IPS nearly straight away and about 8 O,Clock were told to have a 5 minute break :Very Happy after the break DOM says anybody with a full fitting should tie up and go.
By the time I got my packet bag, done the redirections etc I started to prise the mail out of the fitting when I thought I am going to need a ruling, this was quickly agreed as they could see the amount of mail in the fitting and what drop bags I had done.
Only done this walk for a couple of days before as well, and had to split bags to keep the weight down which created some dead walking.
Got to walk about 10 O,clock and about 12.30 manager pulls up in van and says get in, he then questioned me on mail which was returned to the office yesterday, I explained it was my day off but that I did know that 2 bags had been returned to the office officially (nothing to hide there) :angel .
He said I should of thrown that mail in the fitting, explained about the time issue and the fact that there was no room in the fitting, which he agreed on and that he had stuck up for me against the cluster manager.
Then he asks me for the keys to my drop point so he could check what i had left to deliver. :mad still had pouch and heavy drop bag to do, so he goes off and checks and returns key to me by this time ime absolutely fuming.
Finishes walk and goes back to office 15 minutes over my time had 2 F/S packets 1 RTS letter and 1 missorted letter, threw the letters on my fitting and a woman manager who I dont know says "what are they" told her what they were and she accuses me of throwing them at her. I walked of saying Oh for f**ks sake I didnt throw them at you. (could be in trouble there :silenced ).
I am now completely f**ked off and thought I better just go home and not open my mouth to anyone before I lose the plot.
But on the way out theres the DOM so had a go at him about why I was been checked up on, and about the woman manager.
He says that I was approached because when I left the office 4 bundles of mail turned up on my fitting that looked like it had been returned, and he said to just ignore the manager. :hmmmm
What a f**kin day raining as well.
If any one thinks I shouldnt of posted this let me know cos ime going to bring all this up tommorrow.
Ah well a couple of hours to calm down now :cuppa before the missus says whats for tea, me daughter asks me for some money and me lad says whats up with your gob :Sick
Happy Days :wave

But I bet the manager thanked you for all your hard work and effort but I guess you may have forgotten to mention that in your 'post' Thats the trouble with you overpaid and under worked postmen!!!!

seriously, what sort of company are we working for?

it matters not that you work hard and do your best, its never enough, little wonder that moral is rock bottom.

all managers in my office went out on delivery today, and still they say that the new system works!!!!

better go, my daughters will also be after money later and I havn't even startred the dinner yet!

If you have a cat...please dont kick it
