TABLE TOP REVISIONS

Post by postmanpat9 »

IN MY OFFICE WE HAD A TABLE TOP REVISION DONE BY A NON LOCAL UNION REP AND A DRIVER WHO ONLY KNEW ONE AREA.WHEN OUT ON DELIVERY IT IS VERY
GALLING TO SEE COLLEAGUES GOING HOME WHEN YOU HAVE 90 MINS TO GO YOURSELF. YET WE WERE TOLD THIS TABLE TOP REVISION WOULD EQUALISE THE WALKS TO WITHIN 10 MINUTES OF EACH OTHER. WHAT A LOAD OF TOSH FROM THE UNION AGAIN. PERSONALLY I WOULD LIKE TO SEE MUCH BETTER REVISION METHODS THAN WHAT THESE TABLETOP REVISIONS ACHIEVE. HERE IS AN EXAMPLE OF HOW THE UNION IS NOT ALWAYS THE BEST OPTION. :confused

Why did you let a guy from another office and a driver with very little local knowledge carry out this revision? I dont want to sound to harsh but what did you expect to happen here :d'oh! As many if not all your office should have had some sort of input in to this revision which would have more then likely resulted in more balanced duties :Very Happy

--------- and a table top revision  . Your DOM must not have heard of Peagsus/Geo-route as that is the normal method of re-designing walks everywhere else. :hmmmm

Could I also point out that the Union would and could not have had the only input on the new walks, they would have passed comment, made recommendations and had H&S factors considered. Management have the final say so as they have the legal responsibility to ensure the new working practices/duties comply with all relevant agreements, H&S matters and working time regulations where applicable. :hmmmm

ADMIN COMMENT: Please turn off your CAPS LOCK in internet speak its shouting and considered impolite. Ta :Very Happy

REVISIONS

Post by col456xyz »

I work in one of the biggest del.. offices in the country.in our office their is six sections, the primary section went through a peagsus revision about 4 mths ago ,we lost 4 jobs because of this.when the jobs went up on the board for viewing we told the dom the jobs would not work ,they were not equal, postie's crossing onto each others walk to do streets etc you know the crap.we were allowed to vote on the jobs,we asked the union their stance on the changes.we were told how can you vote against them when we had not done them,we were told we would get a 6 week review and any problems would be sorted out.
like dickheads we voted yes, recommened by the union.now 4 mths on the jobs are shite, some are 2.45 hrs and some 4.30 hrs and this is the quiet time.we have been told the next review is 12 mths time .two more sections have had the changes brought in by exec action and the last 3 are in the process.
i am now being told to vote for indust action, will it make a difference to me.i don't thrust rm and now hate the job i have done for the last 23 years.BUT HOW CAN I TRUST THE UNION ANYMORE, we were shafted and sold out over sdd,our top boys are where ?? lifting mega pay and pension pots and i am here lifting approx 275 quid a week working my bollocks off.

A table top exercise is carried out by people whose only relevant experience is having a wooden top. Like most offices who fall for the "review" scenario we went for park and loop with the promise of a resign in ten weeks - that was 10 months ago....................................

We had a Pegasus review, result is 0 hours taken out - so the current walks are being evened up instead by a couple of senior posties and a manager (we were asked in WTLL if we were happy those guys were doing it). The problem with any office is always going to be that one postie's 3hr walk is anothers 4hr walk, so you still get some saying the walks aren't even.

It's a damn sight better than a review done by people who don't even know the walks though - who the hell agreed to that?
