Sick leave.

Post by marleyallan »

A fellow colleage was off sick last week. He had phoned in monday morning to say he wont be in, as hed been up all nite with sickness. Our manager was on the phone tuesday asking him in for a interview. The colleage refused saying he was unfit to travel to the D.O, so the manager insisted on a home visit for the interview to return to work. Is this allowed, managers insisting they come to your home.

Nobody can force their way into someone's house without a search warrant so no.

You should do the return to work interview when you return to work I would have thought.

Cheers for the reply. Thats what most of us thought. Our latest manager has a long record of harasment cases against him. We even went on strike to get him out our office 4-5 years ago. He has friednds in high places within R/M, but one of thems just suspended. I wonder how long the harasment will last this time.

Has your mate got a dog or does he know of anybody with a large dog he can lend?
Ask the DOM for a home visit and then `accidently` let the dog out when he rolls up! :dance
Royal Mail managers.....about as popular as a t.urd in a swimming pool!
The DDA/Equality Act demands action,NOT words......adjustments NOT Occupational Health referrals.Case No:2505901/09
Royal Mail is an Equal Opportunities Employer..It discriminates against everybody.

I do think however that the suggested large dog would at the very least be looking for a nice slice of prime beef and not sloppy seconds which may aggrevate it further.

It might not be such a bad idea.

A few years ago, I was on sick, with Depression and Paranoia. One of my Managers phoned at least twice a week, demanding to speak to me personally. Which obviously didn't help my recovery. In fact, I reached the stage where I jumped every time the phone rang, or there was a knock on the door. It only stopped, when my Wife threatened to prosecute the Manager personally (rather than RM) for Harrassment! :evil/mad :evil/mad :evil/mad :evil/mad :evil/mad

Once I had recovered enough to face it. My Rep arranged a Home visit, so that I'd be on my "Home Turf", with a different Manger (one I trust), and himself. That did a great deal more, for getting me back to work, than putting up with all the earlier Harrassment.

In case you're wondering: My problems weren't caused by work. But all those phone calls, made it a major part of it, once I went on sick! :evil/mad :Sick :evil/mad

If I were your Collegue. I'd arrange a Home visit with a Rep present, before they start phoning. :hmmmm
