Combo vans

Is it just me or are the combo vans really awkward to get in and out of,due to them being so close to the floor.We only have 2 vans in our office and the other is a connect which is far better.Ihave just been off for 3 days with a bad back and reported to my manager(who i have seen once in 3 weeks)about my problems with the combo.He said he would try and swap my van for a connect but im not holding my breath.Just wondered if anyone else has problems.

Most of our van seats are f**ked from the lanky jolly green giants that ram the seats so far back and down that the runners sieze up, so us shorties have to drive em with a mech tub under our backside and a couple of blocks on our shoes. Must admit though, I prefer the little combo's to our LDV's and transits.

My combo van (08 plate) has a height adjustable seat, it makes things a lot easier for my back. Has your's not got one ?

I agree with jaylime . These seats in the Vauxhall Combi are far too low. I get the same aches on my thighs and lower back when driving them. The Ford Connects are far more user friendly to access and use.

On the front of the seat are two levers. Right hand side for sliding back and forth, left hand side for height.
My combo was built for carrying passengers in the rear, so it has two sliding windowed doors ...is this different to yours ?

I use a combo for my SA in the evening emptying boxes and I love it, it feels like im sitting in the van as opposed to on it (as with the connects higher driving position), but it is four years old and the seat is well " worn in". It will piss me off when its replaced with a new one though with the doors locking automatically now when you move off. Can sympathise with not getting on with a certain van seat though, my nemesis a few years back was the medievil torture rack, sorry, peugeot partner which had no lower back support whatsoever and after half a mile was excruciating. Filled a letter bag with another couple of bags to try and fashion a cushion but nothing worked.

I am quite sure that mine simply has the single right hand lever I will check tommorrow.

My 08 Combo van only has the one lever for moving the seat back/forward. I wish the seat did raise up then I would'nt get strangled by the seatbelt! I'm not short either, feel sorry for any shorter people the seatbelt would be covering there eyes. 3 out of 5 people in my section who drive Combos and have all had back operations within the past year

Don't give the Dom/Managers ideas, I could see those lazy gits driving these cars,mind you it may encourage them to get out of the office more
