Re: Man Management Skills
Ours have been saying if you don't like it "get another job" for years. A new favourite is telling us we should be grateful to have a job, they like to say this just after the radio news has reported rising unemployment. 1 of them was shouting about this the other day.

Re: Man Management Skills
After having this no talking thing used against me for years it must be that they feel left out of the conversation or that they feel insecure when they hear laughing in the distance, feeling they are the ones being laughed at. You must be able to work and talk at the same time to have relationships with your collegues at work, knowing eachother helps get the job done as well. Whats also wrong with a short chat in passing. Its got to be to do with massive insecurity amongst the manager, not knowing what their doing, a fear of not having all the required skills to do their job, or perhaps that their not even needed.

This manager should not be saying this to you or no one else about ' putting you at the top of the list for forced redundancy' because this could be considered as unfair treatment in regards to unfair selection for redundancy.tolkien wrote:we had a line manager tell a group of us that if we did not stop talking while sorting he would put us at the top of the list for forced redundancy to get rid of us as he had the means to do so ,when i said that it was the one thing that management had kept their word on so far (no forced redundacies) he walked away muttering
Way to keep the staff motivated and happy!!

At the very least, it's intimidation. You could make a B&H complaint against the Manager.

Re: Man Management Skills
Awhile ago i was having a conversation with my deputy rep and made a comment about Allan Leighton .
It just so happened that the DOM was passing and overheard, the next thing i knew was that he looked like he was going to have a coronary
.
Imagine how a religious zealot would act if you made an insulting comment about his god ,well that was how the DOM was acting,he must have been so far up Allans arse that he could see what Allan was eating.
I bit back and as usual the office went quiet whilst i made my observations about Royal Mail and the upper echelons of management and he insinuated that i was a heretic.
I finished our tete a tete with observation that we were having a private conversation and i was entitled to my opinion.
DOMs...don't cha luv em
