Simple question about Pegasus

Hello all,

Very plain and simple question-

Is the Pegasus delivery system working in ANY office by the people that do their job right?

By working right I mean no cut offs/handbacks and no overtime being claimed.

My office is so pathetic and full of so many red arses that come in early EVERYDAY to prep their walks. They also prep mail for the next day if there is any ready when they come back. They don't take their break! They use their f**king cars! And are still coming back late most days! Then they have the cheek to come and talk to me, telling me how Pegasus is such a failure and it needs sorted! Royal Mail isn't gonna sort it when it has total a*seholes working for free, not taking their breaks and using their cars! Why would they? If I owned a company and my employees were working 2.5 hours a week for free, not taking their breaks and using their own petrol, why would I stop them?

Then to top it all off I do start at my proper time, I don't prep any mail until the IPS is completed as it should be. I either take my break or finish 40 mins early if I need to be somewhere. I don't use my car. However my DOM has the f**king cheek to ask me why I'm last outta the office?? HELLO! I don't work for free you stupid f**king man!!!

Also if I have to leave a handback/cut off I am treated like a t*at and have to fill a form in explaining why I am leaving mail. Yet....and here's the good bit.....the guys who do go out and complete the full delivery are perhaps claiming 2-3 hours overtime and not an eyelid is batted!

This was supposed to be a short and sweet post. Sorry for dragging it on a bit.
Looking forward to some of the responses and input from fellow posties who do the job right.

100% with you kid. When i was a postie i for a start never was in early as i could not face getting up out of bed earlier When i started doing my job properly they where right on my case!!!! I stood up to the tossers before i left, i was not leaving until i did!!

To answer the post, no Pegasus is not working, it was not designed to work from a postie's point of view. Alas we live in the real world where people do not answer their doors within 3 seconds.

I must disagree with you, ever since my office had it's pegasus review my life has been made a lot easier (everydays a cut off) but I don't think it's what they wanted.

Pegasus is a software that is used to calculate the area of delivery. Now as much as i am happy for someone to create a walk using this program, the problem with it being is that its not accurate enough. Its about 90% accurate now i am being generous some points of a delivery were not showing the gradient, which concered me.

I've spoke to alot of offices about starting times and no matter what you say to the people that come in early, they just ignore the fact that they are doing nothing wrong. This is the complete opposite and it will affect the office by coming in early, using cars, etc. You have a set time use it, don't abuse it, or peoples jobs could be on the line here.

Another thing...my dom hates it when you say cut off...so i politely say i am going to be working to my time. I thank n you

pegasus sucks and should never be used to work out how to deliver mail etc,hasn't worked in any office i have spoken to,pegasus should be destroyed......... :lfo

On my delivery Pegasus works. It timed my walk at 2.59 and on average that is quite accurate. I did however spend over 3 hours with the planner, inputting data regarding gradient, length of paths, steps, time-locks, anything that took me longer than walking straight to the door. It was based on 85% call rate, so a really light day!
In the office in general, those duties who ensured that every single thing was logged had no surprises, but the flyers who spent 30 minutes with the planner got scr***d. Coincidently, they were the ones demanding a full office re-pick when they saw their new duties.

How's your boss then soon you'll be sitting around all day, drinking coffee wondering why you can never get anything done and then blaming it on your workforce I now have images going around my head of you arguing with yourself, calling yourself lazy before going to sit down, have a cup of coffee and play Tetris for several hours

you should all try to live in my twisted mind sometimes but be sure to stay out of the really dark places
