Belled my rep ( his day off - must be a coincidence ), gave him the scoop, said I was interested, but said I didn't want to lose my SA collections ( I do one a week, and I'm usually one of the first asked if they need cover, even though I only know two ), and while I don't mind working my day off sometimes, I don't want to feel compelled to work six days just to make up my money every week. He said I should try asking for a written duty description ( cos it's happened before that a duty has changed out of recognition a few weeks after it has commenced ), and that the way the timings would work out, if I did do 7 hrs, not many packets would get delivered , on top of which I don't want to be doing OT cos my duty time is not long enough, only to get pressure and harrassment to stop booking OT! When I got back, the Linoe was gone ( surprise, surprise
What would you do in my position - on the positive side, I'd have a fixed duty, customers I could call my own again ( when I started I spent 18 months on one duty ), and I'd have every Saturday off ( a nice little sweetner, admittedly ). However, I'd be complicit in reducing the OT of my colleagues ( it's going to happen soon whatever I decide ), and financially, I'd be no better off, maybe even worse ( although I could volunteer for OT by starting a few hrs before my duty time ), I'm not likely to get the 40hrs ( which means I'll be broke after everytime I take A/L as per ). So, comments please, I don't know whether to accept, but I do know i want to spend some more time talking to my rep about this. Cheers.
