if i was you- take it, cause what theyre doing prob wont go through.
up and down the country, folk are being "offered" evr, only to find out its not been agreed, or done through proper procedures.

Our boss tried, and almost got away wi getting rid of 10 part timers, for about 4 grand each, instead of 10 senior men, at 30 grand each.

id say sign it, copy it, and send it off, now, because one guy did, in our office, and hes gonna sue, cause of the cock up- royal mail said it was a mistake,and is now not getting evr,

46 weeks money won't last very long.
It might be worth taking it if you have another job lined up, or you don't need an income.
But it will be hard finding another job at present, and you might regret leaving RM in 12
months time, when the money has run out.

46 weeks for 13 years - thats crap - excuse my language. I get made redundant from HMF 13 years ago and I got over £40K then of which £28K was redundancy and that was considered good as it was just over 2 years basic pay for me.

that sucks, a guy at my office got about 20k for leaving royal mail when they got rid of the walks a few years ago, he only did 5 years service previous to getting the evr. a year later hes back working at the same office

Well, what about when the MTSF is changed?????? Then you will only get what the woolworths staff got! The minimum and thats it!! There has been talk MTSF to change in Jan 2010.

I received the EVR letter a few weeks back now, it came with a booklet in which you could roughly calculate how much you might receive

It came to 23K for me with 20 years service.

Just worked it out based on my basic wage, as I drive a 600, quite an impressive sum.

I will have to think about it, right now is not quite a good time to go, there is no job to go to yet.

All this seems pretty good to me,I was made redundant in 2005 from a small engineering firm after 17 years. I was paid out
the goverment max of around £250 per week for every year of service up to the age of 40,then around £350 for every year after the age of 40,I was 43 then.So I got about £5000 !.My weekly wage at that time would have been £400 a week!

How do they calculate 46 weeks wages? On basic or last years total salary?
