I've been hearing a lot about 2 deliveries returning, on here and at work.
Not like the old 2 deliveries though(doing the same delivery twice) but going out doing a 2hr 30mins 1st Delivery returning to the office for your break, then doing a another 2hr delivery 2nd delivery(different area). This is supposed to get around the health and safety issues of doing more than 3hr 30min deliveries and the supposed falling mail volumes.
Has anybody else heard these rumours!

Not heard anything but it wouldn't suprise me in the slightest, they will keep pushing for longer and longer deliveries, especially when they finally get round to rolling out more sequencing machines and more mech-mail meaning in their eyes - less indoor work for us.. There's also the option of pushing a few people out in a van together to cover two deliveries and all packets/SDs etc.. They will keep dreaming up these "fantastic" ideas of getting the job done - there's plenty of empty space in :cfo head to fill with yet more stupid gimmicky ideas.

We can sometimes be ready at 8.30 or 9.00 but we have to sit and take our break and wait for missorts at 10am.
They know we can only do 3 and a half hours and some days we can make quite a bit of time. With the new sorting machines and the prospect of more mail(inc large) being walk sorted and sequenced, our sorting/prep time would be cut down quite a lot.
So they have spoke about letting us out early with a smaller delivery and then come back have a break and go out for another hour or maybe 2.
This way they can get us to do 5 hour walks.
This is the way things are moving.
