is it a requirement that DO's have a set of scales?
reason i ask is in our new (4 months) DO the scales have never been installed
if not how are you meant to weigh your bags?

edit: does anyone know if theres any guidelines on how often DOM's should be checking posties bag weights?

The CWU Lighten the Load Booklet with regards to pouch weights says that they must be monitored and adequately controlled. Therefore DOM's should be carrying out regular checks on bag weights via-a-viz snap inspections and any found in excess of maximum weights should be split in line with MATRIX guide or as some areas have already done 1st bag 16kg then all subsequent bags 11kg. Do DOM's bother, some do others don't, but these are the ones that get caught out by the Enforcing Authorities who then land them with an Improvement Notice and egg all over their face.

Regular is open to interpretation but as regular is an (adjective) - happening or doing something often.

well we moved here in September so they cant have done any bag checks since
ironically they moved the scales up early from the old office so they would be ready to go

well this is it.ive been off my duty doing PHG'ing but ive had enough and told em im going back on my walk
now my duty has gone from being in walking distance of the office to miles away
so i want to see how this changes my duty and bag weights will play a part in this ;)
