Agency Drivers
I got speaking to an agency driver this afternoon, he was driving a RM artic. He said (in broken english) that the agency charge RM £35-40 per hour, the agency then pays the driver £9.50 per hour I thought RM were meant to be saving money!

Would it be possible for myself to set up an agency,just for myself as the sole agency driver and then hire myself out at that rate?

Agency workers have their uses to business,I was watching CWU Tv last night about the BT workers in Plymouth,if you are trying to cover for absence,short term busy periods etc then they can be a useful addition,..........but when BT and Royal mail use them long term then something is seriously long with our employment laws,it cannot be right that someone can work on site for 8-9 years and still be an agency worker,paid less than the people you work along side.
