First Refusal on OT

So lets say I have my day off and so does one of the floaters.
Lets say the guy who was supposed to be covering duty is off sick.
Should the walk holder be offered first refusal of OT as opposed to a floater who uses his car and will do the round much quicker due to the car and plus the fact he runs (yup!)

It should be fairly allocated. If you think its not, raise the issue with manager thats authorising it. If you still get no joy, take it further, as it is clearly a case of discrimination.

At our place the duty holder has first refusal on there walk if the Rest Day cover man is off and a reserve has not signed for his job.If they dont want it then it goes on the book where the rotational system is used.

In my office it's always the same people who do the OT but even their willingness has reduced over the past year :shock:
