We moved from 1900 finish to 1930 - 28 days notice.
We moved from 1930 finish to 2000 - 28 days notice.
They actually moved it to 1955 as 2000 would see us getting a shift allowance, or so we were told.
An advert appeared on an Agency site late last week, 2100 finish time.
A Royal Mail advert come out a few days ago, 2100 finish time.
Yet we have heard nothing.
Surely they can't do that?

Who wants a knock at the door at half 8 at night unannounced. Are there full parcel rounds arriving at the DO in the afternoon?

Re: Moving finish times and not informing us?
All depends on your contract. Many of them now have a variation or flexibility clause which allows them to do this
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Re: Moving finish times and not informing us?
Have a look at your last parcel time for deliveries, it should be 19:30 as per the Managers LAT Manual, but I have not found any agreements/docs stating this time other than the LAT Manager's Manual, the Xmas agreements say 21:00 as the last parcel time with wording saying that is an extension implying that the normal last parcel time is before 21:00.LondonCSC wrote: ↑30 Oct 2024, 03:44I'm DPR.

If they are pushing you out until past 21:00 it then becomes a health and safety issue, that needs risk assessments and stuff done as I have found out from the CWU as my depot has been out as late as 22:20 sometimes.
Best to ask your union rep to help out.
just a small edit: agency can be out until 21:00 from my understanding

We’re fcuked sir - newbie for 2 yrs 7 months (2 years agency before that) and this is our contracted hours - copied from contract (which I didn’t get till after I started!!!)
Core hours of work are 6am to 10pm Monday to Sunday. It is anticipated for full time hours you will work 5 days in every 7 (pro rata for part time). Your scheduled duty attendance times will be allocated to you by your line manager. However, these hours may change from time to time after giving you reasonable notice.
Actual hours will be confirmed up to 24 hours before shift. You will he subject to the Attendance Policy/ Procedure, as amended from time to time, which is set out on the Policy and Information Site and on the People App. To the extent there is

Re: Moving finish times and not informing us?
The CWU didn’t just ‘let them’ bring in the new contracts. The new contracts were brought in by executive action by RM.Valentina@1 wrote: ↑20 Feb 2026, 14:43And CWU just let them bring these contracts in with zero push back after 97% mandate
