Amazon issues

Since prime day we've been getting at least a whole york of Amazon packets, per walk, per day on 2 of our sections. This is in addition to the usual tracked/non tracked/oversized that we are meant to take out. They are taking priority over everything but specials: as a result crates of mail are piled around the place and sleeves are overflowing with small non tracked.
Is this happening everywhere, or am I giving away my location?

I'd define rural as defined by distance to nearest amazon warehouse, not "country lanes" and such, for Amazon stuff.

We definitely get a decent chunk here, we're probably an hour away from amazon on busy days, so paying us a couple of quid per packet can easily make sense, compared to paying one of their guys 2 hours for 5 drops across 5 miles of driving.

Amazon flex in our area,if you are on the app just pick a delivery slot turn up in your car and deliver parcels ,its a bit like uber delivery but for parcels. Went past our Amazon warehouse the other day and looked like at least 50 cars lined up to get their parcels to deliver. this is what will be coming our way at some point you cant stop change as the union keep telling us ,hopefully i'll be retired when it gets here ,but things are moving fast in this sector.

Weirdly the 2 sections affected are the most urban. The rural area still gets the ones Amazon won't go to, and the estates/suburban parts are normal, but the 2 postcodes with the highest density of housing is being absolutely smashed and RM can't get enough casuals on to cover it

Amazon have probably lost, or can't find, drivers to cover the area, or they are off long term sick, so they are just dumping the work on your DO, problem is if they eventually recruit or the drivers return from sickness the work will disappear as quickly as it appeared.

We've had Amazon in my unit for ages. It's a s**t show every day, even Tuesdays. The office 10 miles away doesn't have them. People who've worked in both say it's like night and day. Didn't stop our DOM adding up to 500 delivery points to each shared van in March, though.

Amazon made losses this year just shows you it can happen to the biggest,like us it relied on the covid boom for profit projection and hasn't done as good as they thought after.

Okay got told today by a manager that Amazon can't cover the small, dense streets since the council got more vigilant about parking restrictions (another disadvantage to owner drivers as a business model) so they dump all of it on us and it "needs to be a priority or we lose the Amazon contract."

We've a few duties that are still hit hard by Amazon, most aren't even 'rural'. I've spoken to a few Amazon drivers and they said they''ve a high turnover of staff so it'd explain the random spikes of Amazon we get for other duties.
