Im 5 days into my annual leave and have been poorly for all of it

Post by postiewhite »

Started my annual leave on Monday but on the sunday I came down with Bronchitis. Today is Friday and I haven't done anything all week because ive been poorly.
Someone has mentioned today I can claim my annual leave back but im already 5 days into it. To be fair after googling this I do have some sort of entitlement. Is there anything I can do or is it too late?

if you claim it back Sunday to Saturday is 7 days, you will need a backdated certificate, but you also have to inform them today or the absence will be longer. Tough ask.

If you leave it till you return to work, it will be 9 days, and unless the covid rule has not changed, you will need a "Fit note" to claim it back.
