RMCtv : PDA Safeplace enhancement and go-live

Post by POSTMAN »

All Delivery colleagues.

Following on from recent changes in options for Safeplace, the PDA will now have a “Delivered Safeplace” option where there is a pre-existing arrangement with the receiving customer.

This will also enable all Frontline OPG’s to capture a photo which assist in providing tracking details for our customers.
A further post will confirm when ALL PDA’s need to be cradled to enable the software update..

Enabling Additional Safeplace on PDAs

Back in April, and following some really useful feedback on Workplace, we introduced a change to our delivery processes allowing posties to leave parcels in a Safeplace where they had a local arrangement with the customer. Since then, we have been working on some changes to our PDAs to make sure we always get a record of that parcel being left safe.

From next week, posties will be able to record that a standard parcel (Royal Mail Standard 24, Royal Mail Standard 48, 1st Class Standard and 2nd Class Standard) has been left safe and capture a photo of the parcel in its safe place, in exactly the same way as they have always been able to for Tracked parcels.

We’ve set up the PDAs so that if a parcel can be left safe (where that local arrangement is in place) then the PDA will offer up the Delivery to Safeplace option. For parcels that require a signature or for Special Delivery items, the option won’t be available.

This change allows us to offer the same level of customer information on all parcels that we leave safe - giving customers peace of mind and providing evidence which protects posties from any complaints made about parcels going missing.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
