Annual leave via the People App - here's how

Following a successful trial, colleagues can now book annual leave through the People App.
You can download the app onto your smartphone or access it on your tablet, laptop or desktop PC. This enables you to book annual leave at the touch of a button – anytime, anywhere.

You asked for the ability to book leave through the People App – and we’ve responded. We’re constantly adding new features so if you haven’t already downloaded the app, then do so today. You’ll be joining more than 100k colleagues who are using it to access payslips, review holiday pay, order uniform, purchase a wide range of salary sacrifice products through MyBundle and much more! Just visit your App store and search for Royal Mail People App.

We are pleased to announce that following a successful trial, colleagues will be able to use the People App to book annual leave from today.

This will enable you to request annual leave at the touch of a button - any time, anywhere. Your request will be sent to your line manager in PSP and they will review it.

They will either approve or reject your request (providing reasons for the latter) and you will be able to monitor progress on the People App as the status of your request changes.

Please let your colleagues and teams know. Encourage them to download and use the People App for this and many other great things (eg reviewing pay slips, ordering uniform, accessing MyBundle).

Colleagues in Operations asked us to make this change as part of our ongoing focus on
simplification through DILO (Day in the Life Of).

It means our posties can submit leave requests to their manager from the comfort of home instead of providing holiday dates on pieces of paper; and it means our managers in Operations don't have to input their teams' annual leave requests in PSP because the People App does it for them. This is a great example of how a simplification idea from one part of the business can benefit us all. So it's a win: win.

Knowing how DOM's play fast and loose with recruiting people to a post and then doing dodgy transfers to another
office even though you don't actually work there, like they're playing a game of draughts (chess too difficult)
it could be the name of a DOM/COM in a different office where your role is actually attached to

so if it is a win win as they say , then surely all the available leave dates for your office would have to be displayed otherwise there is no point is this shite , as if your not one of there blue eyed boys or you dont know what leave is there , so you just wont get it so its pointless imo , so you may as well carry on giving bits of paper to the dim to be told yes you can or no you cant have it .

Often wondered the point of this. We've employed staff to fill vacancies and then they are immediately sent permanently to another office and then we are back to square one.
