Dogs and posties on Vine BBC Radio 2 6/7

Post by yellowbelly »

As it's 'Dog Awareness Week' along with the LTB here: viewtopic.php?f=28&t=105671,

Jezza Vine was chatting about it on his show yesterday, there was a postie talking about it, starts at about 1h 33m into the show
until 1h 40m, available on BBC Sounds. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0018pjn, need to have a BBC account.

Thanks for posting that.

Thing is, if RM really wanted to get the message through to the customers with dogs, every six months or so they would do a nationwide D2D drop asking people to be more careful if they have a dog. I can only think RM believe they would put a few customers noses out of joint if they did this?

A few years ago a postie at our place asked one of the managers about doing a d2d to everyone about dogs. The manager concerned is also a Unite H&S rep so should be on top of the issue. The answer given was that an office did a d2d drop about it once, and someone complained that they found it upsetting because their dog had recently died. Because of that one complaint he said it wouldn't be done again

So what did the dogs have to say about it all?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Surely now its got to the stage where there are so many of these popping up, we should be allowed to refuse to bend down to them- knock and if no answer try again the next day.
