Summer lapsing start and finish .

hi has there been an agreement with the cwu over 2022 summer lapsing dates yet ? , as the bloke at our office is lapsing crazy and has already started , even thought our revision is an absolute nightmare. and there paying o/t hand over fist for ips ,

As far as i know there has never been an agreement on lapsing dates. Lapsing is an ongoing thing to take you up to your finish time IF YOU HAVE TIME TO SPARE.

Yes those doing OT on the IPS really should be shot with s**t.

Never seen a week without laps, even when I've been spare and had nothing to do. Instead of sending me out with a lapsed round, they have me killing off dead mail and cleaning frames.

My arguement is if IPS is being done early on overtime then that is saying there is to much work, but that overtime in turn accelerates everyone out the door giving leeway for lapsing, so surely if nobody came in early on IPS overtime people get out slightly later and finishing nearer time with no scope for lapsing.

i totally agree but it just falls on deaf ears and that includes the cwu reps in the area as well . , surely you would stop ips o/t ? or is it just me .

Same at our office , most of the IPS is done on overtime to accommodate delivery collapsing

Plenty of PT in early on OT every day in mine

We probably spend more in OT trying to get the mail sorted earlier, than it would cost to pay an extra 2 bodies to deliver the lapse duties.
