Day off landing on bank holiday
Last week my day off fell on bank holiday Monday, I’m now being told that I’m not entitled to claim back the hours as overtime or a day in lieu. To cut a long story short, I went into work the following day on the Tuesday, even though I knew I wasn’t really well enough to do the job as I had strained my back quite badly over the weekend, after speaking to the manager he suggested that I take the rest of the day as part sick day, as there was no work they could offer me in my condition. I subsequently remained off for the rest of the week as I wasn’t fit for work. When I returned this week management have told me that I’m not eligible for the hours to be paid to me for the bank holiday as I was off the whole week on sick leave even though I did actually go in for an hour on the Tuesday morning. Does anyone have experience of this or can offer any advice as what I’m being told does not seem right to me. Thanks

Hmm ...he appears to be trying to shaft you.
You reported sick on Tuesday and that's that.
RM owes you for Bank Holiday. (Your legal entitlement)
Put a grevience in if they are not giving time back or paying.

Your manager is having a laugh
Get your rep or area rep involved so they can jump all over this.

Ffs, why do we employ such horrible horrible managers. You went sick on the Tuesday. You are entitled to it.
