Question on how reserves/ PT and seniority works
A Duty is currently being delivered by 2 part time employees.
2 Posties at 3 days each, with postie 1 imminently retiring.
The other as a reserve (newer than myself)
The delivery is currently been advertised as vacant (PT 3 days) assumably due to the retirement of postie 1.
My question is:
If I apply for the delivery, would my application be considered for the position of the current (newer than me) reserve postie or only against the retiring postie?

Should imagine the retiring postie triggered the vacant position but you need clarification from management.

Is it officially 2 part time duties? If it isn't then I would expect it'd be advertised as 1 full time duty

Re: Question on part timers on vacant duties as reserves
From what I can see 2 posties duty 21 and duty 22.
21 is retiring so the duty will go on the board
Anyone can pick duty 21 as long as they are the senior postie to go for it.
That is the simple crux of it without muddying the waters.
