Signing for parcels

So when do we go back to handing over parcels and getting them signed by customers.Cant wait till b stuck in rain waiting for customer to come to door to sign for something which fits through letter box.

Scan on doorstep not possible in rain . Take photos not possible with door open because of dogs.
Take photos not possible in the rain
. Sometimes not possible to use the PDA without scanning in the van

Can you imagine a customer trying to sign for their package with a wet PDA?

From march all tracked parcels have to have a photo taken with door open
or if they go through letterbox - photo with packet halfway through

Given all the hoo-ha we've had with covid, I won't be handing my PDA over to any customers ever again.

They can witness me signing for it, by all means, but they won't be signing for it.

Great, another task they want us to do with no extra time given. So I guess we’ll be bringing even more mail back.

Where does it imply there are newbies? I don't think anyone has suggested that customers didn't sign before covid.

How often can you see this happening….

- Approach door, take out packet “great it fits through”
- place packet halfway through letter box
- reach for PDA….SNAP! “Thanks postie”
- proceed to knock on door and ask the customer for the parcel back to then take a photo of it next to their feet.

So we might never have to get signatures again now, seen as we could be at work with covid now we don't have to isolate or test but they don't want us to pass it onto customers

PDA is useless for photoscan as sometimes the screen goes black and doesnt show the photo and freezes.

Are you currently putting "Signed For" items that will fit through the letterbox straight through the door without knocking?
