The insult of Absorption
It's has been a difficult time for all us on delivery, for the last two years managing our duties. Often being unable to provide the most basic service regarding letters.
Now finally the intense pressure is easing. However, management are now insisting on absorption of duties.
What this means in reality, is that customers who have had a dire service with Thier mail, will continue to do so.

Re: The insult of Absorption
there a complete joke of a company when they know the deliverys arent right and realising the amount of sick on top of them inc failures , but here kop for that
, talk about kick posties while there are down and no mention of the service
, its simple no time to do it take the f****r back and let ofcom slap them with a massive fine for failures again
as thats when it will sink in when it costs them money , the cwu should stop this asap , but no doubt bullinger and the rest will just agree with them .

They keep coming and looking for savings and efficiency in offices that are understaffed and failing routes several times a week.

If failed walks were actually reported, then upstairs would stop asking managers to absorb more walks. But managers won't report them because it will affect their bonuses. Union should compare what's left in the office at the end of the day and compare it to what managers have put on the system. Once they start getting fined they will soon put a stop to this whole attitude of leaving mail in the fittings for days on end so tracked only goes out.

This is becoming quite an urban myth.postman2014 wrote: ↑08 Feb 2022, 19:01If failed walks were actually reported, then upstairs would stop asking managers to absorb more walks. But managers won't report them because it will affect their bonuses.
I have never known a manager not report USO failures because he would be putting his job on the line.
Accusing your manager of fraud on a public forum without any proof to back it up is also putting your job on the line.
I know of one of our community who lost his job for precisely that.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

From what I've heard, it's sector managers railroading DOMs into implementing unrealistic lapsing plans. Supposedly. I've heard of pushback from DOMs, but ultimately they'll only stick their neck out so far. I have no way of verifying that - it could just be a sob story to deflect blame. And so long as a loop goes out it can qualify for the lesser crime of 'partial failure'.postman2014 wrote: ↑08 Feb 2022, 19:01If failed walks were actually reported, then upstairs would stop asking managers to absorb more walks.

Re: The insult of Absorption
Since February our office is now cleared every morning we are told to take everything out, concentrate on tracked, trouble is we bring most of the mail back in the afternoon to chuck back in next day, yesterday we brought back 8 of the 12 loops, it’s demoralising, even the diehards are now switching on & saying f**k it.

Why are you bringing 2/3rd's of your post back on a Tuesday, when it is usually one of the quietest days of week, how many houses are on your route?twoloops wrote: ↑09 Feb 2022, 15:42Since February our office is now cleared every morning we are told to take everything out, concentrate on tracked, trouble is we bring most of the mail back in the afternoon to chuck back in next day, yesterday we brought back 8 of the 12 loops, it’s demoralising, even the diehards are now switching on & saying f**k it.

And because even post-Xmas in some offices the phenomenon of double or triple mail is still a thing.

Re: The insult of Absorption
There aren't many DOM's that know the correct way to report DODR, some misreport by accident, some misreport on purpose and some even report correctly, but it's definitely not an urban myth. If you complain to the CEO they will send an audit team to investigate.clashcityrocker wrote: ↑08 Feb 2022, 19:31This is becoming quite an urban myth.postman2014 wrote: ↑08 Feb 2022, 19:01If failed walks were actually reported, then upstairs would stop asking managers to absorb more walks. Re: The insult of Absorption
I got chucked on a route I'd never seen before, an absorption route that had not gone out Monday, and Tuesday 4/6 loops had been brought back because the length of the absorption loops were uneven and they wanted to prove a point
