It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Maybe they are spending all day job hunting and seeing how much they would get elsewhere for the work they do.

Rochester lino
why are we not then going to the CWU to get them to agree to Everyone not being paid for the first 2/3 days of sickness, I have no doubt that this would reduce that amount (sick absence £ amount) considerably

Simon 'I wonder how he would get on' Thompson.
please discuss your idea with your local CWU unit rep - please let us know how you get on...

Rochester lino
so despite sickness being a £340 million problem you’re not prepared to broach this with the CWU ?

Simon 'I wonder how he would get on' Thompson.
we discuss everything all the time - please let me know how you get on locally…

Rochester lino
@Simon Thompson surely negotiating with the union is your remit ?

Simon 'I bet the rep loves him!' Thompson.
of course - but let me know how you also get on at a local level - bye for now....

Disgusting. What sort of person would want to deprive someone of pay because they are sick. RM management really belong in the dark ages.

Absolutely.

My other takeaway from this is the amount of sympathy I have for our comrades in the Rochester DO who have this specimen as their lino.

If these are Simon's actual replies I think he's actually having a laugh at the lino's expense with his replies.....
