Re: Gatwick Mail Centre cant get our mail to our delivery office on time
As a 600 driver myself from experience the DOs are used to runs arriving earlier then scheduled. My last run is due to depart 07.15am for a 07.30am arrival but for years they were getting it at 06.45am and then I got the duty but it has a run before that leaves the MC at 06.15am and since our tabletop revision to reduce down to 38hrs and I start 15mins later I have lost my wiggle room and I am regularly arriving at the scheduled time and the DO are not happy about it. They think I am late. I would suggest you check the service levels agreement agreed with the MC. Tbh 08.30am arrival is abit late. Alot of the DOMs are ignorant about what their actual arrival times are or don't want to give the bad news to their staff

Re: Gatwick Mail Centre cant get our mail to our delivery office on time
Thats what happened at our office today too (not served by gatwick MC though).
Got told there was no driver to bring the yorks that arrive during the night that we start with at 5am. Then at one point later in the morning we had 3 '600' wagons in our yard. One of them had come just to repat empty yorks/trays etc.
Then 2 more turned up in the afternoon...
They have the wagons just not in the right places

Re: Gatwick Mail Centre cant get our mail to our delivery office on time
A york of empty tray doesn't last long this time of year. An iLSM can get through around 156 trays at a time, I believe that a couple of MCs have got something like 5 or 6 iLSMs.
Empty yorks can be like gold dust at times. Some MCs get screwed over and have all their empty yorks taken

I agree that the need for trays etc in MCs will be huge, I can only imagine. But how come one of the wagons that brought mail couldn't take the empties back? Why waste fuel on another wagon and driver when apparently they're rare as hen's teeth?
