Royal Mail, Amazon and the Fuel Crisis

Owing to the ridiculous fuel situation, Amazon have apparently struck a deal with Royal Mail, who have agreed deliver a larger proportion of their Prime orders than usual. As a result, our DO was SWAMPED with packets today, the vast majority of which didn't go out as we simply didn't have enough staff to deliver them all.

We're already drowning in parcels at my DO and the amount of walks that are failing from one day to the next is continuing to rise. With the sudden increase in Amazon packets and the absence of any additional staff, I dread to think what the coming weeks will look like.

On a brighter note RM profits will be up!! Assuming this is true, Amazon packets/parcels do seem to have notably increased recently, then why don't the business leaders warn it's staff and say that additional o/t is available to clear the additional work, rather than just keep it to themselves? Who knows if we got this right it could lead to us retaining more of their business.

We can't cope with the amount now, no point having more just to fail them or other stuff. You can only do so much in a day, we're already overloaded. But as long as RM makes more profit that's alright is it ????

Won't be too long before the time of year in the run up to Xmas when the amount of Amazon Tracked ramps up anyway

It's great isn't it, swamped here too and they left a duty in on Saturday so we could clear the trackeds, so basically Amazon got a preferential service over everybody's mail on that walk.
