Hi all, I just wanted some info and advice if possible please.
My wife has just been diagnosed with breast cancer and has to have a mastectomy soon. I just wanted to know how helpful Royal Mail will be? Do we have any policies in place for this kind of thing?
I have a young daughter who will need to be dropped off and picked from school while my wife is recovering while also needing help in everyday activities. Just not sure what kind of support I’m going to get if any, once I tell them the treatment plan.
Many thanks in advance

I used holiday for the first surgery and asked for and got special leave for the second.
My wife then underwent 18 weeks of chemotherapy and then radiotherapy we were able to work appointments around work and help from friends and family.
Thankfully she was given the all clear this year.
I wish you both well and the best advice i can offer is listen to the recommendations the doctor says especially during chemotherapy and radiotherapy there is help available for her and you and people you can talk to.
