If you sign for a duty, then a other comes up 2 months later.
Can you sign for you it?
Any rules stopping you from going for it?

Re: Duty signing
Under which rule is this, as I've heard this before but no actual proof, thanks for the reply.

Re: Duty signing
It’s in The Way Forward agreement which can be found in the download section of this website. I don’t think any subsequent agreement has changed the rules on this. The applicable part is….
14.9 Employees taking up internally-advertised posts will be dedicated to them for a minimum of 12 months. No applications for job moves will be considered during that period, unless they are:
• For specialist posts;
• As a result of serious personal or domestic reasons, following discussions with local CWU representatives.

Re: Duty signing
As above, it's 12 months.
However, it seems to be dependant on how much noise you make.

Re: Duty signing
Like most things at RM,it probably depends on the office. We have several people at my DO who have increased & dropped hours yet remained on their walks,despite the fact there are ‘reserves’ waiting in the wings with the correct contract for those duties. Once upon a time,if you were a 30 hour man signed to a 30hr walk & you got a permanent uplift in hours ,you would vacate that duty & either sign for a walk that fitted your new contract or become a reserve. Simply doesn’t happen at our place…
“Shorts,in this weather?!”
“If they’re bills I don’t want ‘em!”
“What’s she been ordering now?”
