Chasing holiday pay

Post by Alexei »

A friend left RM a few weeks ago and has quite a substantial amount of hours leave accumulated. Three weekly wages since resignation and they have still recieved nothing. They've been in contact with both payroll and management, and they keep passing responsibility between them. Not too sure what advice I can give other than contact HR again saying the manager has pointed in HR's direction? There is a thread on here about an ex employee having his wage reduced to nothing, presumably because they hadn't accrued enough leave and didn't see out notice, and the business are quick to deduct that. Yet in a reversal of the situation, they drag their heels. They have recieved their P45 last week so confused why the pay hasn't came through yet.

Best advice is to take your remaining annual leave before you actually leave the job officially. If you know in advance when you were going to retire you could also book your annual leave for before you quit then there is no quibble.
I agree RM only worry if they have lost out financially but if they make an error resulting in loss for you it is often difficult to rectify.
