Has any survey analysed the results based on religion/sectarian basis?
Gerry Adams (for one) certainly tweeted his disappointment that the vote was a No, and the Orange marchers in Glasgow etc certainly made it very clear they were for a No vote. Seems like there were possibly underlying issues other than just petty nationalism.
I know plenty of RC Celtic fans that were voting NO and a couple of Rangers fans voting Yes.
Some of the best articles written about maintaining the Union were written by prominent Celtic fans, John Reid, Brian Wilson and Jim Murphy did a tour of 100 Scottish towns defending the Union, I doubt religion/sectarian basis played much of a part for either side.
The Orange parade was in Edinburgh and given that they are a staunch, Unionist/Loyalist organisation they always will be up for defending the Union.
