This is only my opinion and I am looking out from within the biggest movement Scotland has ever seen and accept its not a scientific analysis. The YES movement is growing daily and I really do not know where it is going to go after September 18th. Its not linked to any political party and the driving force is for change, people who have never voted or given up on voting for change are joining. There is talk about over 80% turnout, change is good especially when the system is morally and financially corrupt.
I was told today the Union Branch which has been allocated to my membership voted No and only 9 people turned up and they all voted No. I am in the process of getting this confirmed. Yes it my fault to let this happen by not turning up, it would of been well over 120 miles round trip to attend, should there of been a postal vote. What I am saying the Union which I am part of reminds me too much of New Labour, all the power is centralised and is it so broken that a new build is the way forward. A union is like a house, you need one.

Fish just curious as to why you think we will be better of in an independent Scotland with Royal Mail when you look at the geographical state of Scotland .
The big centres have always subsidised the rural areas so why do think we can prosper breaking away from Royal Mail.

Independence means goodbye to Ofcom and the regulations it currently imposes. Direct delivery could be stopped in its tracks and DSA could be tackled. These are things that Ofcom has the power to do now but refuses. The revenues from this will help offset the remote area costs. The EU directive is not clear on what constitutes a threat to the USO of each member state so we could be like France and play hard ball and cut DSA down to size.

Government subsidy will most likely be needed but you either see the postal service as a driver of the economy or not.The question is what stake do the employees currently working for Royal Mail and Royal Mail in Scotland have in it and what deal is likely to be struck.
Well as ex RM employees you will forfeit your shares and they will be given to your English ex-colleagues - vote NO. :chuckle

A pamphlet on why Billy Hayes and his gang demand i vote no came through today. Given the fact that my branch (Scotland no. 2) were denied conference time to argue the motion, with others, will not be lost on members here in Scotland.

It was a diktat.

Billy, I'll be voting yes.
Demand? Aye? Clearly you never actually read it.

I did read it and it was pish.

Thanks for playing anyway.
You read it and you still claim the CWU are somehow demanding you to vote no?

Aye very good.

No army, navy, airforce, pound sterling, and what would you rename the Pound Shops as, no national health, no medical research, no DVLA, no road works, no national railways, border crossing guards with strip searches, no MI5 or 6 so no defence against terrorism - oh yes welcome to The Brave(heart) New World.

Better known as Sam Clemens a writer of children's fiction what better to quote when dealing with the unlikely and improbable. Could we see a mass exodus from the highlands the like of Calais trying to board ferries to England or hop aboard a lorry clinging to the exhaust for dear life for a visit to the Lost World :cuppa

You just do not get it, the Yes movement is not SNP, thats why its growing so fast, you do not become a member of it, you just become part of it. The reason why I am posting here is the mainstream media is backing the No side, they have the big bank accounts, the Yes movement have the people and we are wining on social media. If you do not like the content I am posting, ignore it, move on. If its is offensive get it blocked. Many people within the UK are backing the Yes vote, and understand this will bring positive change. Its happening.
